Does Amazon just decide that price on its own without consulting the creator/publisher? Book pricing (especially with the rise of e-books) seems more complicated than the health care bill...
I think Amazon decides which books go on sale and alert the publisher. They're usually books that've been out for a year or two. Not quite remaindered, but close.
