Okay, fine. Too much Beethoven? Want some cheap laffs? Here.
I actually used the joke about a German Expressionist Christmas in a Cul de Sac a few years ago in the Post Magazine. At some point the Otterloops will go to a P J Piehole's Family Fun Restaurant and the two strips will merge into one seamless universe.

Beethoven was great, but Mall Santa Advisory? Golden!
Thanks, Nolanart! But I hope everybody tries the Bonus Beethoven Wallpaper I included in an update to the My Favorite Drawing post below.
I tried it, but it downloaded huge and pixelly (technical term). Anybody else have a problem?
That's the joke! Ha ha! Ha.
cough. cricket noise.
Zing! got me...
There's a comics poll in my imaginary hometown of Kitsap.

Thanks, Mel! I looked around at the samples, and the way Cul de Sac is presented in a mangled format, well jeez, no wonder it's tanking in the polls. Good thing it's imaginary.
I wish my home town was imaginary.
Claire didn't get today's CdS - the shrub gag. I thought comics were for kids!
Extend to Claire my profoundest apologies, and tell her she's too sophisticated for my lowbrow stuff. And today's is a set up for the next few strips, so it's got longeurs. Did I spell that right?
"Who's Richard Nixon?" is your setup for a week's worth of strips?
No, wait! There's more!
Not better, just more...
Great! Then our long national nightmare is over.
Actually, I just put lights on the bushes, and the experience was much like today's strip including Petey (or Claire) saying it's cold, I'm going in.
