Brain and Brain

So Friday morning I'm going in for Deep Brain Stimulation surgery. This is not only a good excuse for my continued tardiness in answering some 5,000 emails, it will also provide me with unpredictable mutant powers and a surprising haircut. And it may also get me drawing again. Besides, all the best people  have it, so what's stopping me?

I'll let you know how it goes.

  1. Hey Richard, You're in good hands, from what I've been told. Try not to crack the team up at any delicate moments and there shouldn't be any problems (aside from the haircut.) It took awhile for my apparatus to get tuned properly, but I don't know where I'd be today without it.

Wishing you the best, keep us posted!

  6. Best of luck. Surprise hair-cuts aside, I hope everything comes together for you and your family.

    Fingers crossed.

And thank you for the links (Off and On, is quite a good read).

  7. I understand the procedure is much less dramatic now that they use longer lead wires. They don't have to raise the operating table up to the top of the building during the storm anymore.

  8. Good Luck! I hope that it goes very well!

  9. Good luck, Richard! I hope you end up with the ability to read minds or manipulate metal objects through a magnetic force, rather than turn blue and hairy with opposable toes or some other of the less desirable mutations. AND if you just shave your head, you can totally make your friends call you Professor X. This treatment is sounding better all the time!

  12. Have fun. I hear this implant helps dramatically with deadlines. I hope it helps with reception and they give you a lifetime supply of tinfoil to help with reception.

We are sending VHF and UHF signals your way!

  14. Perhaps you should draw a cartoon on your head to keep the docs smiling tomorrow. So dream about Alice & her quest for the best Halloween costume & before you know it, your procedure will be over. And of course have a sketch pad & pencil all ready for all the new great ideas that will be popping up afterwards. Seriously, we're all pulling for you & the best outcome.
