Today's Cul de Sac, October 8 2010

That's a nod toward Batman/Bruce Wayne there in that second panel. If circumstances had been a little different Michael Keaton might have one day donned the pangolin costume.

  1. A quick check shows Alice's path is reasonably clear if she wants to become a pangolin themed super moocher, a search for Pangolin costumes comes up pretty dry other than a couple of furries (or scalies I guess). Found a cool Pangolin backpack that costs a fortune and doesn't look that convenient, but still very neat.

  2. No, Robin should've been the one wearing a pangolin costume. He would've been named... The Pangolad!

    Okay, sorry...

  3. As a parent of younguns, the solution is always an appropriately colored sweatsuit (in this case, brown) and face paint.

I think Alice's mom would agree.

Extra touches could include headband with ears and "scales" drawn onto sweatsuit with fabric paint.

**Also, I love how her drawing is glowing in the last panel :). I just put in the high-pitched "aaa" sound effect myself.

  4. I see the second panel as less of a 'Batman' and more of an Edward Gorey homage.

Alice would make an interesting Ghastlycrumb Tiny.

Today's Capcha: excrumm v. to clean a breadboard after slicing a bagel.

  7. I immediately thought of Alice's pangolin obsession when a friend posted a link to this today on Facebook. The world's only know suit of pangolin-scale armor! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Coat_of_Pangolin_scales.JPG
