Looking at this now I wish I'd put in a little more background. It had some in the sketch, but I worried about the busyness it might inflict, what with the top-heaviness of all those words and the silly costumes to look at. And the vital importance of drawing the eye to that stupid, old-timey-looking stapler.
More later....
I LOVE the stapler :)
ReplyDeleteI just finished reading "The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake," by Aimee Bender. The whole time I was reading it, I pictured the brother and sister Otterloops from Cul De Sac...the characters are so similar! Last week's theme about the friend that comes over to visit was especially relevant; I hope you get a chance to read the book. Thanks for the daily glimpse into the sweet, quirky lives of the Otterloops and friends.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the stapler too. Can't tell you how excited my students get on "publishing day" when they get to staple their poems together with a cover. :)
ReplyDeleteI have a stapler like that. I didn't realize it was stupid and old-timey. Now I feel bad.
ReplyDeleteI learned to write when I was three, just so that I could make books using that very same stapler.
ReplyDeleteWell, Richard ... I bet you don't go making snarky comments about staplers in the future !!!
ReplyDeletePeople WILL turn on you !!
