Richard, i just read this one and was thinking how funny it was that you drew a herd of toddlers and, lo and behold, here it is blown up so we can all enjoy it.
I love the Uh-Oh Baby. Somehow, its androgyny makes it even more unnerving--as if you are even more specially pointing out that it is no common human child but a PRESAGE OF DOOM.
The Uh-Oh Baby is a very special character who needs to be rationed, like Charlie Brown and the football, though perhaps not with such once-a-year regularity. Too much would be too much, but the occasional appearance is ... delightfully unnerving!!! One of your better creations!
Richard, The Comics Reporter blog has just published a list of the top strips since 2000. Guess which strip made #1!. The link is at http://www.comicsreporter.com/index.php/cr_sunday_features_lets_refine_last_weeks_best_of_2000s_comics_list/
How great to see this twice. What's missing from this single frame is just how cool, which is very, the "rumble" lettering is across three frames.
ReplyDeletePS Love the new header, ya wierdo.

ReplyDeleteI count 38. But I know how you famous artistes may exaggerate for effect from time to time, so all is forgiven.
ReplyDeletewahahahahahahaha !
ReplyDeleteI swear I just saw the uh-Oh baby on Wilson Blvd in Rosslyn. It was in a tandem stroller and said "uh-oh" 3 times as I walked by!

ReplyDeletethat was one of my favorite Cul De Sacs. A toddle stampede!
ReplyDeleteOff topic, but I'm assuming you've seen Ponyo? I ask because the title character is a cross between Alice Otterloop and a sea urchin.
