The Inadvertant Adventures of Danders

This is from '04. It's the first of several series where the classroom guinea pig, Mr. Danders, would get out of his cage, usually by accident, and wander off school property. My favorite bit about this one is that in each episode Danders assumes a new identity. This'll be in the Cul de Sac book, along with a few other series, so consider this a sneak peek.

    Great series. I love the humour.
    One part that pops out to me like a beautiful grace note is the watercolour ground in the second-last strip. Beautiful colours!

    the winnie the pooh one has a terrific layout. i just noticed the arc that the balloon makes across the strip. simple yet clever.

    FYI: guinea pigs are actually not from the rodent family at all - they're more closely related to the chinchilla or the porcupine.

    But I love Mr. Danders. And Cul de Sac in general.

    Wonderful atory arc, Robert! Thanks for showing us why, so early on in its cartoony life, CUL DE SAC was nominated for an NCS Newspaper Comic Strip Award.

    I was looking for you because we had your comic strip in our paper (in Toronto) for about a month and then they brought Doonesbury back! I miss it as your work is hilarious. Loved the comment "I hate pushy sandwiches". Wonderful. Glad to have found you. I can read some on line.

    This was probably my favorite series of "Cul de Sac"s ever. Nice to know I'll soon have them in book form.

    Are we going to get to peruse the Sunday strips in the volume in vivid color?

    Simply loved this run!!

    Specially liked the globe travel which reminded me of the brasilian priest who travelled with hundreds of baloons.
