Haha! I've got a million of 'em!

Okay, well, three or four maybe.

  1. I'm not sure if anyone living outside of DC gets just how spot on this is. Yoshino!

  2. Today's Falling Rock has an appearance by Nixon, too! Was he elected by cartoonists, do you think?

  3. I love this time of the year--bikers on the crowed, narrow pathway around the Tidal Basin, people climbing on trees that have "do not climb" signs posted next to them...

Richard, I was at a nature center in Fairfax last week with the kids and they posted on the public board a strip you did last year titled "Vines." I was reading it and commented to the person at the counter, "This guy rocks." He responded: "He sure does!"

Your fan base is growing faster than kudzu....

  4. Ah you do bring history to life Messr. Thompson. I did uncover an esoteric fact to share: In 1912, President Taft, upon hearing of the Japanese gift, said: "Cherry bloss'em? I hardly know 'em!" When no one laughed, he ran back to the white house and consumed an entire country ham. It's a fact. Look it up.

  5. Nixon was God's gift to cartoonist, and to nobody else.

Ha! Park rangers are great, my wife has several in her family, so I appreciate that, Matt. I got an email from someone telling me the Poor Almanac book is for sale at his local natuare center. Which lends the book a measure of authority & gravitas.

And Bear, I believe that totally, no need to look it up. Thanks for sharing it.
